Pemanfaatan Aplikasi Text to Speech untuk Pengembangan Materi Listening Berbasis Kearifan Lokal
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan materi ajar keterampilan menyimak berbasis kearifan lokal dan nilai-nilai keagamaan di Madrasah Aliyah Kabupaten Gresik dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi Text to Speech. Hal ini dilakukan karena pentingnya keterampilan menyimak dalam bahasa Inggris, serta kebutuhan akan materi yang relevan dengan latar belakang budaya dan agama siswa. Tantangan yang dihadapi guru, seperti kesulitan menyediakan materi listening yang menarik dan kontekstual, mendorong penggunaan teknologi untuk solusi inovatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model Gall, Gall, dan Borg, meliputi sepuluh tahapan, muilai dari identifikasi kebutuhan hingga implementasi, dan evaluasi produk. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara observasi, analisis kurilukum, serta uji kelayakan materi oleh ahli dan guru. Materi dirancang dalam enam unit yang mencakup cerita rakyat, sejarah lokal, nilai keagamaan di daerah Gresik lalu diubah menjadi auido menggunakan TTS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan materi ajar ini sangat layak digunakan, dengan skor tinggi pada aspek kekinian (100%), kemenarikan (90%), dan relevansi budaya. Guru dan siswa juga memberikan respon positif dan menyebutkan bahwa materi tersebut meningkatkan motivasi belajar, keterampilan menyimak, dan pengetahuan budaya siswa. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam pengembangan pembelajaran berbasis teknologi dan budaya lokal. Materi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model inovasi pembelajaran yang berkelanjutan dan relevan dengan kebutuhan pendidikan di era globalisasi.
