Kontribusi Empati Bagi Perilaku Prososial Pada Remaja
Abstract
Tingkat kepekaan perilaku prososial cenderung menurun di kalangan remaja. Remaja dianggap sukses melewati masa anak dan masa remaja, apabila mampu mengembangkan kompetensi sosial, salah satunya yaitu perilaku prososial. Perilaku prososial memerlukan penelitian lebih mendalam kembali. Jumlah artikel dan buku yang diterbitkan mengenai prososial lebih sedikit dibanding mengenai antisosial. Pada akhir tahun 2003, prososial merupakan kata kunci di 1.600 catatan PsycINFO, sedangkan antisosial adalah kata kunci di 3.850 catatan. Anak dan remaja yang memiliki empati akan lebih mudah untuk berperilaku prososial. Kajian terhadap faktor-faktor pembentuk empati anak dan remaja menjadi penting mengingat tingginya kasus perilaku negatif yang terjadi di lingkungan masyarakat. Oleh karena itu tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kontribusi empati terhadap perilaku prososial pada remaja. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, subjek yang digunakan sebanyak 303 siswa kelas X SMAN di Kota Malang. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan Prosocial Tendencies Measure–Revised (PTM-R), dan Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI). Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu model analisis Hayes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya kontribusi empati terhadap perilaku prososial.
