The Influence of Intensity of AI Chatbot Gemini Utilization on Students' Academic Self-Efficacy

This study aims to analyze the influence of the intensity of AI Chatbot Gemini utilization on students' academic self-efficacy, considering the evolving role of AI as a cognitive partner in the learning environment. The research employs a quantitative approach with a causal associative design through an online survey method. Questionnaires were distributed to 120 student respondents selected using the purposive sampling technique, and the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The research results indicate that the intensity of AI Chatbot Gemini utilization simultaneously has a positive and significant influence on students' academic self-efficacy (F-count = 10.253 with a p-value < 0.001). Partially, the duration of utilization dimension proved to be the most dominant and significant factor, with a regression coefficient of 1.140 and a p-value of 0.004. High utilization intensity contributes to strengthening students' confidence in managing their self-regulated learning process. The implication of this study emphasizes the importance of responsible AI technology adoption to support the enhancement of students' academic self-confidence.
