This study examines the role of TikTok’s repost feature as a medium for students’ emotional expression and how peers interpret reposted content. A quantitative approach with an explanatory research design was employed, involving 71 students from the Digital Communication and Media Study Program at IPB University selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument passed validity and reliability testing, with all items confirmed valid and achieving a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.866. Descriptive findings show that students use the repost feature not only to share content but also to communicate mood, emotions, and aspects of self-representation. Simple linear regression results indicate significant effects of the repost feature on emotional expression (R = 0.452; p < 0.001) and audience perception (R = 0.405; p < 0.001). These findings demonstrate that reposted content serves as an emotional communication medium that shapes how users express feelings and how audiences interpret their digital identity.
