Abstract

This study aimed to see appreciation of society on home schooling, opportunity of learning process in home schooling, and roles of givernment and society in the home schooling. This study used qualitatuve approach. Data were obtained from participatory observation and in-depth interview. Data were analyzed using Strauss Model that included: open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. Results of the study were: (1) appreciation of society to home schooling was good, at least 15 people joined in the home schooling in the area of research, (2) students ’ achievement in home schooling was as good as regular school, (3) students of home schooling were able to socialize to peer-teens, general society and environment as good as regulat students. In the future, home schooling shows prospective opportunities.
