Abstract

This paper described prospective future of English language teaching field and its challenges. The descriptions started from the potential of the global perspective of English language and its tension in the expansion of English as the new colony. In the case of language instruction in university in Indonesia, problems on management of university was illustrated briefly. In addition to professional language teachers, teachers ’ competence was illustrated critically figuring out professional teacher and competence of English teacher as the workforce perspective. Local contents emphasizing prospective view that the English Language Program of Unisba Blitar tried to challenge were specified in the KKNI-Based curriculum showing future advantages of Unisba.
