Abstract

This research and development study aims to produce valid marine invertebrate bioplastic learning media tailored to students' needs for identifying animals in animal taxonomy courses. Marine invertebrates, particularly those of the Gastropod class, obtained from exploratory research on the southern coast of Blitar, are preserved in resin and equipped with morphological characteristics. The research and development design follows the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) proposed by Thiagarajan (1974). To develop the product, the researchers conducted material validation, media validation, and practicality testing. Validation was carried out by two lecturers. Data from the validation tests was analyzed using quantitative descriptive methods. The material and media validation scores were 0.80 and 0.84, respectively, which fall into the high criteria. Therefore, the marine invertebrate bioplastic learning media can be used to support students in identifying animals and achieving learning objectives. However, further trials are needed to ensure the effectiveness of the bioplastic media in improving students' skills.
